Immersion

Nature is a tireless source of inspiration. Its versatility is  breathtaking and recognisable everywhere, both in a large landscape and in a small blossom. The range of impressions is almost endless: dreamy, hostile, romantic, sober, colourful, barren, inviting, calming, frightening, majestic, overwhelming …

To experience this requires a willingness to truly see. Here, seeing means not just looking with your eyes, but feeling with your whole being. Only with this immersion can a deeper connection be formed, allowing you to move from being a distant observer to becoming part of the whole.

In my collection “Immersion”, the human figure plays only a minor role. The photographs invite viewers to lose themselves in them, to sink into them: in the massive high mountains of the Alps, in the temperate landscapes of Germany, and in the elemental expanses of Iceland. Each region offers a different form of devotion to the landscape – a form of immersion that places the human presence in perspective and makes nature the true protagonist
